Following is a list of the ten richest people of the world as ranked in Forbes 2010 list of billionaires. Interesting fact: four out of the ten listed here are college drop-outs.

Chairman and CEO of Telmex, Telcel and América Móvil, the Mexican telecom magnate, Carlos Slim Helú, is the richest person in the world as of 2010, with a net worth of US$53.5 billion.

Bill Gates

CEO and founder of Microsoft, American software tycoon and Harvard drop-out, William Henry “Bill” Gates III, is presently the second wealthiest man in the world with a net worth of US$53 billion. He remained the richest overall from 1995 to 2007 as well as through 2009.

Warren Buffett

Legendary American investor, Warren Buffet, is chairman and CEO of the holding company Berkshire Hathaway and presently the world’s third wealthiest man with a net worth of US$47 billion.

Mukesh Ambani

With a net worth of US$29 billion, this Indian businessman is currently the richest man in all of Asia and the 4^th richest man in the world. In fact, in October 2007, Mukesh Ambani surpassed Gates and Slim to become the richest person in the world, attaining a personal worth of US$63.2 billion. Ambani is the chairman and MD of Reliance Industries.

Lakshmi Mittal

Indian citizen and London resident, Lakshmi Niwas Mittal, is the chairman and CEO of the global steel company, ArcelorMittal. Mittal is currently the richest man in Europe and the 5^th richest globally with a net worth of US$28.7 billion.

Lawrence Ellison

American billionaire, Lawrence Joseph “Larry” Ellison, is the co-founder and CEO of Oracle and presently the 6^th wealthiest person in the world with a 2010 net worth of US$28 billion.

Bernard Arnault

This French fashion tycoon is the founder, chairman and CEO of LVMH and chairman of Christian Dior S.A. Arnault is the world’s 7^th richest man as of 2010 with a net worth of US$27 billion.

Eike Batista

Eike Fuhrken Batista is a Brazilian oil & mining magnate and son of Eliezer Batista, former mining minister of Brazil and former chief executive of prominent multinational mining company Vale. Eike is presently the 8^th richest person in the world as ranked in Forbes 2010 list of billionaires with a personal net worth of US$27 billion.

Amancio Ortega

Spanish fashion tycoon, Amancio Ortega Gaona is the co-founder and chairman of the Inditex fashion group. With a net worth of US$25 billion, he has been ranked as the 9^th richest person in the world as of 2010.

Karl Albrecht

Karl Hans Albrecht is a German billionaire entrepreneur and owner of discount supermarket chain, Aldi Sud . Albrecht co-founded Aldi with his younger brother, Theo, starting from a corner grocery store that belonged to his mother. He is presently the 10^th richest person in the world with a net worth of US$23.5 billion.

We are constantly bombarded with ugly people lists (even I am a perpetrator of writing these types of lists) so I decided to do the reverse – a list of women generally considered unusual or ugly, but who can be very beautiful. Most of the beautiful celebrities only look beautiful because of their makeup anyway – why not give these ladies the same treatment? So, here is my list of 10 not-normally-considered-beautiful beautiful women. In no particular order.

Courtney Love often ranks at the top of ugly celebrity lists. She was married to Kurt Cobain (of Nirvana fame) until he killed himself in 1994. She formed her own band called Hole.
2. Juliette Lewis

Juliette Lewis is recognized as one of Hollywood’s most talented and versatile actors of her generation. She first stunned mass audiences and critics alike with her Oscar-nominated performance as ‘Danielle Bowden’ in Cape Fear (1991). To date, she has worked with some of the most revered directors in the industry: Martin Scorsese, Woody Allen, Lasse Hallström, Oliver Stone, and Garry Marshall. Most recently, she received an Emmy nomination for her performance in My Louisiana Sky (2001) (TV).
